Delanco police continue to seek the person responsible for shooting a resident's cat with a crossbow.

A $1,000 reward is being offered by the New Jersey SPCA and the Burlington County SPCA for anyone that provides information that leads to the shooter's conviction.

The SPCA said Delanco Police responded to an initial call about the cat injured with an arrow on Saturday. Part of the arrow was removed and was being processed, the SPCA said. The cat was taken to a veterinarian and the rest of the arrow was removed.

When the SPCA Humane Police went to Delanco Police Department, the officer examined the piece of the arrow determined a crossbow had been used, the SPCA said.

The arrow was equipped with a field point, which is typically used for target practice, the SPCA said.

The cat is doing well and will survive, it said.

It's asking anyone with information regarding the incident to call the Humane Police at 609-914-4255. All calls are confidential.
