TRENTON — What better way to celebrate a summer day than with ice cream?

While The origins of the "holiday" are a bit sketchy, President Ronald Reagan proclaimed July as Ice Cream Month in 1984 and the third Sunday on the month as National Ice Cream Day. Reagan called it "the perfect dessert and snack food" and cited the contribution the production of ice cream makes to the economy.
