Gov. Chris Christie is in New Jersey more often than he is out of it, but just barely.

As he chases a possible presidential bid, he has been away from the Garden State 46 percent of the time, so far, this year.

That is even more than last year when he was head of the Republican Governor's Association.

And if history is any indication, he will be away even more often.

Other governors, who have run for president, have been away from their state well over half of the time.
