Where Are the Rides in Seaside? [AUDIO]

After paying $10 to park on Father's Day, plenty of Seaside Heights Boardwalk visitors were disappointed to see absolutely no rides on the bottom deck of Casino Pier. Employees had expressed hope that rides would be operating by Memorial Day Weekend, but weeks later, the pier remains barren.

"We didn't know it would take this long," said Casino Pier Marketing Manager Maria Mastoris.

She said the new tentative deadline is Independence Day. The pier, as a whole, doesn't open daily until this Saturday.

According to Mastoris, workers have been pulling rides from the parking lots and onto the finished boards. Ideally, every ride would be ready at the same time and pave the way for an official "re-opening," but visitors may be greeted by additional amusements every couple of days.

The Casino Pier Facebook page has been announcing which rides would return for the 2013 season. A post from June 10 suggests more than 15 rides, some for kids and some for older riders, will eventually be ready.

Go-Karts and rooftop miniature golf have been available on weekends to visitors.

The owner of Funtown Pier, located at the other end of the boardwalk, said operations won't resume until 2014. Both piers were destroyed by Superstorm Sandy.
