When it comes to new car buying, not all the days of the year are created equal, according to one group of experts.

And if you're in the market right now, your time may have arrived.

Jesse Toprak, Vice-President of Market Intelligence for the website TrueCar.com hastens to emphasize that an educated consumer who does their homework for a car-buying deal can score a bargain at any time. A former new car dealer sales manager himself, Toprak says, "we do not want to discourage anyone from going to a dealership on any particular day."

That said, Toprak adds that in general, the end of the week, the end of the month and the end of the year may be more favorable for buyers. He says March, seasonally, is one of the best months of the year in terms of the number of new cars sold in the U.S. He says many manufacturers, both foreign and domestic, look to March as a bell-weather month for the year, and they try hard to make the month a big sales success.

So Toprak says that means that right now, this weekend, the end of March, may be prime car buying time for you if you are in the market because dealers are anxious to finish this hot month with a flourish.
