State Police are continuing their investigation into the discovery of a body in the woods of Burlington County on Sunday.

But a key question remains: Was the body found that of David Cohen, the man police were searching for when the body turned up?

A Burlington County search team was in the woods in Southampton off Route 70 at Hog Farm Road not far from the Red Lion Circle in Southampton and called in State Police when the badly decomposed body was found, according to State Police spokesman Lt. Brian.

Polite said searchers were looking for Cohen, who was reported missing by family members on April 22, 2015, and who was last seen alive on April 20 at the Red Lion Motel, located on Route 206 in Southampton Township. He was traveling from out of state to visit a friend located in Lacey Township.

Cohen checked into the Red Lion Motel for the evening and no contact with him has been made since then, according to police.

He is still listed on the State Police missing person cases.
