There's a twist this year. Instead of unveiling a top-ten list of favorite beaches, Executive Director Claire Antonucci says they'll be recognizing the top beach in each of the state's four coastal counties: Atlantic, Cape May, Ocean and Monmouth.

"We'll have a best beach in every county, plus we'll have an overall best beach," said Antonucci.

The beach to beat this year is Ocean City, according to Antonucci. The 2015 winner has been a top beach in New Jersey for many residents and tourists.

This year's winners will be announced June 30 at the location of the No. 1 beach.

"We're doing that purposely to get people excited about visiting some other beaches perhaps," Antonucci said. "We have quite a few. We're really fortunate in New Jersey to have so much ocean coastline."

You have until June 10 to vote for your favorite beach at njseagrant.org.

The website includes information about the importance of dunes and the dangers of rip currents.

The New Jersey Sea Grant Consortium is located at Gateway National Recreation Area at Sandy Hook.
