In Oak Brook, Illinois a network of dental service corporations conducted a survey asking over a thousand primary caregivers what the Toothfairy had given their children.  The results may make you consider vasectomies and tubal ligations.

The average tooth gift for 2012 was $2.42.  That's up significantly from $2.10 the year before.  Is this the sign of an improving economy?  Or is it more evidence that kids are being spoiled rotten?  There also seems to be a continued belief that the first tooth gets a far bigger payoff from a Tooth Fairy than subsequent teeth.

What about New Jersey, one of the most expensive places to live?  Gotta figure here the fairy has to be in the Tooth Union, with higher hourly scales thus the gifts may be higher too?  Take our poll and let us know:
