What is the best party day of the year? – Poll

Which do you think is the best party night of the year? If you ask me, I’m going to say it would be St Patrick’s Day. In fact, you can join me tonight for a great party when I broadcast live at Hooters in the Mercer Mall in Lawrenceville.

When discussing the best party nights of the year, some would say New Year’s Eve. New Year's Eve, which to me, is the day that comes at the end of a holiday celebration that has already gone on for a couple of weeks. You usually end up spending a lot of money because everything  is overpriced, celebrating the end of the year. New Year's is all part of a ritual which in my family ends with a crown roast and hangover the next day.

Others may vote for a warmer party celebration.  There are those who may say that Cinco De Mayo is the best party day of the year. Cinco De Mayo is the day that celebrates the Mexican army’s unlikely victory over the French forces at the Battle of Puebla. Did you even know that before you read it here, or were you too busy asking for another Corona to ask?

St Patrick’s Day has a certain lore about it.  The story of St. Patrick driving the snakes out of Ireland, converting the country to Christianity, using a shamrock to explain the trinity. These are great stories and when you add those great Irish songs that we all sing along to, there can be no better sense of belonging. That in itself, is where a great time begins.

Add to that the fact that we’ve been cooped up in the cold all winter, the weather is starting to get warmer, it makes for a good time to celebrate. There are so many different reasons why in my opinion, St Patrick’s  is the best party night of the year.
