Nothing will ever take the place of diet and exercise – but we all like to think there’s a magic bullet somewhere.

Something that we think will allow us to take a shortcut around daily gym visits and grazing on 6 meals a day.

I get into a routine – albeit for a very brief time – until I break it and go back to my bad habits.

And it shows.

But I know full well that there’s no shortcut.

Take, for instance, the latest fad. Caffeine-infused underwear – which has been fined by the feds as they’ve found it does not aid weight loss.

According to this story, the FTC has fined Wacoal America – a firm based in Lyndhurst - one million dollars for falsely advertising their caffeine infused underwear called iPants will aid in weight loss.

In addition to that, the firm will have to pay an additional $1.3 million to consumers who’ve purchased the garments.

You might say, as the competitor to showman P.T. Barnum was quoted to say: “…there’s a sucker born every minute!”

And even though the feds have stepped in to fine the ill conceived product and probably take it off the market – you’d have to believe the other adage that “if it’s too good to be true – it probably is!”

How many crazy-ass diets have you tried? How many have actually worked (if they've worked at all?)
