Road work this weekend will close some or all lanes on several state roads, including the Bayonne Bridge and Pulaski Skyway.

The Bayonne Bridge will be closed in both directions from 9 p.m. Friday until 9 a.m. Sunday as part of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey's  $1.3 billion "Raise the Roadway" project.

Port Authority spokesman Neal Buccino said the closure is an effort to "make sure we meet the project's revised timetable," which necessitates the full closure on some weekends.

The bridge will continue to be closed weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The installation of deck panels on the Pulaski Skyway will close both directions as the rehabilitation of the 83-year-old span continues, according to the state Department of Transportation. The Skyway, already closed northbound,  will be closed in the southbound direction starting at 2 p.m. Saturday until 10 a.m. on Sunday morning.

The Skyway's full closure includes most ramps, including the southbound ramp from Tonnelle Circle. The southbound lanes are expected to be closed again next weekend, Friday, May 6, through Sunday, May 8, to continue the deck panel installation.

The DOT said that two right lanes of Route 3 eastbound and the left lane of the Route 3 eastbound service road will be closed for substructure repairs on the Paterson Plank Road overpass starting at 11 p.m. Friday until 8 a.m. Saturday. The right lane of the Paterson Plank Road northbound bridge over Route 3 has been closed since February 2015 when a tractor trailer traveling on Route 3 struck the overpass. Temporary repairs were made at that time. This project will permanently replace the damaged steel beam and reconstruct the right northbound lane of the Paterson Plank Road Bridge.

All the projects are weather dependent and could be canceled at the last minute. The Turnpike Commission has canceled the weekend closure of the northbound outer lanes in Sayreville for a bridge re-decking project that has caused delays the past two weekends.

New Jersey drivers could also be affected by the closure of three lanes on the Tappan Zee Bridge traveling from Westchester County into Rockland County in New York State.  Six 75-foot prefabricated piles to be placed in the Hudson River for the new Hudson River span. The lane closures will be in place from 9 p.m. Friday until 2 p.m. Saturday, and again from 9 p.m. Saturday until 2 p.m. Sunday.
