The City of Angels is an organization focused on raising money to directly help people recovering from heroin addiction.  I was honored to serve as a co-chair and Emcee for the annual "Walk of Angels" this weekend.

Co-founder Kevin Meara and event co-chair, Robbinsville detective Scott Kivets spoke with me about the importance of partnering with law enforcement and empowering families to overcome the stigma of addiction to discuss the problem openly.  Perhaps the most impactful moment of the event was the time I spent walking through the "Reflections" tent.  This was organized by moms who have lost sons and daughter to heroin. It's a stark reminder that the crisis of addiction can hit any family. White, black, rich or poor.
