Netflix is becoming a parent's best friend on New Year's Eve. The video service has come up with a brilliant video that is going to help parents let their kids celebrate the New Year's Eve countdown and still get them to bed at a decent hour.

Getting the kids to go to be early when there is no school on the horizon can be a tough task, so Netflix has come up with a brilliant video to help parents trick their kids into thinking they stayed up for the midnight celebration using a popular cartoon character.

Netflix recently released a video called It's called "King Julien New Year's Eve Countdown." You'll have to sign in to Netflix to see the full version but there is a preview above.

The animated three-minute video features King Julien, a lemur from the "Madagascar" movie series and Netflix's original series "All Hail King Julien" as well.

King Julien becomes Ryan Seacrest for the kids, with his very own countdown. "Is it almost midnight yet?" King Julien asks. "Who cares? It's midnight somewhere! That means it's time for the New Year's countdown!"

The kids celebrate and there are some very happy parents who have their kids in bed at a decent hour on New Year's Eve thanks to Netflix!
