I've gone skydiving. People who BASE jump is a whole other level of crazy. (B.A.S.E. is actually an acronym that stands for the four fixed objects from which one can jump...building, antenna, span, and earth, meaning for instance a cliff).

Veteran BASE jumpers Vince Reffet and Fred Fugen broke a world record by leaping off the world's tallest building. The Burj Khalifa in Dubai stands at 2,717 feet. As tall as that is, half a mile up for parachuting is nothing. In BASE jumping, you're pulling your chute so close to the ground that if something goes wrong, well, at least you don't have much time to dwell on it before you die.
