My friend Alan and I rarely see eye to eye on sports.

He’s a die-hard Eagles fan and I’m a Giants’ fan from "God only knows when!” Same holds true with baseball as he is a fan of the Phillies and I root for the Mets.

But as both of us were watching the game last night, like so many New Jerseyans, there was one thing both of us could agree on.

We both wanted the Cowboys to lose. And lose big time in front of 100 thousand screaming Dallas Cowboy’s fans.

So when a controversial 4th and 1 play practically sealed the victory for Dallas leading to a key touchdown – guess who was doing much of the celebrating in the owner’s suite?

Yes, our very own Chris Christie wearing his celebrated red sweater.

Not that this hasn’t happened before. In fact, he was in the owner’s box when the Cowboys beat the Eagles recently – angering many South Jersey Eagles’ fans.

Didn’t much matter to me at the time, since I hate both teams; and know full well that the Governor has been a Cowboy’s fan since he was a kid.

But this one clearly pissed me off. We so wanted to see the Cowboys lose – and just the sight of the Governor “bro-hugging” the owner of the Cowboys had me screaming “that fat bastard” to the television – not once, but a multitude of times.

And I wanted to post that to my Facebook and Twitter accounts – but thought better of it.
Apparently there were many others who did not.

According to this story: when the Governor hugged Jerry Jones and his staff, the internet went wild to the point that it almost surpassed the infamous number of gawkers logging on to view pictures of Kim Kardasian’s ass.

"To all of those non Cowboy fans who have their panties in a ringer because the Governor of NJ is a Cowboys fan — GET A LIFE !!! The Gov has been a Cowboys fan for his entire life and ALL of you would sit with the owner of your favorite team in a heartbeat if given the chance. I'm a Giants fan — we are sitting home for the fourth straight year. Eagles fans — possibly you should worry more about the fact that your sorry ass team has never won a Super Bowl and less about who's rooting for which team. I mean crazy pathetic posts. And for every calorically challenged FB person who posts about the Gov's weight — forget the magic mirror and look at yourself. Weight posts—really?”

A couple of questions emerge.

Like - who pays for the trip to the big D, and eventually when he travels to Green Bay to see the Cowboys take on the Packers? Does the money to pay for his security contingent come out of his pocket – since this isn’t official state business?

Or does the Republican Governor’s Association foot the entire bill?

Just a few of the questions us bitter Giants’ and Eagles’ fans wonder about the next time we see our “red sweater” wearing Governor in the Cowboys’ owner’s box.
Hopefully for the last time this year!

Bitter?

Yes – but who cares!
