Warren Twp. Woman Suspected in Fatal Crash Surrenders
A Somerset County woman has surrendered to face criminal charges in an automobile crash that killed a man and injured his daughter.
The Somerset County Prosecutor's Office says Lori Weiss turned herself in Friday morning.
The 44-year-old Warren Township resident was charged Thursday with vehicular homicide and assault by auto for an accident Wednesday night in Bernards Township.
Bernards Township police have served Weiss with four motor vehicle summonses including DWI and reckless driving.
Police and prosecutors say her 2011 Mercedes SUV crossed the center line and struck a 2008 Honda Accord driven by 49-year-old Bridgewater Township resident Peter Calvelli. Calvelli's 25-year-old daughter suffered serious injuries.
Weiss posted $50,000 bail Friday. Her attorney didn't immediately return a message seeking comment.
