Health officials in Warren County told The Star-Ledger Thursday that a teacher at Liberty Elementary School had been confirmed to have H1N1, or swine flu.

School officials at the Great Meadows Regional School District say schools were closed Jan. 17 due to an "unusually high" number of students and staff with flu-like symptoms.

About 60 district students were out sick Jan. 16, and more were sent home. About one-third of the students at Liberty Elementary School in Liberty Township were absent, according to a nurse there.

Health officials say there is no concern for other districts, but they are urging people to get vaccinated.
