Warrant Issued in Killing of Irvington Store Owner
Police in northern New Jersey have issued an arrest warrant for four people in the fatal shooting of an Irvington store owner.
The Essex County prosecutor’s office says 52-year-old Narendrak Patel was shot dead June 29 during a robbery at his store.
Two of the four suspects have been arrested. Police say two suspects from Newark, 22 year-old Carnel Colbett and a 17-year-old juvenile have been arrested. It’s not clear if they have retained lawyers.
Warrants have been issued for two brothers who remain at large: Newark residents 26-year-old Ivery Brinson and 21-year-old Shakil Brinson.
They are facing murder, robbery, carjacking and weapons-related charges.
