Authorities in Burlington County are searching for a man who they say asked a group of children "probing questions" in the area of a local elementary school last month.

According to Evesham Police, the suspect, described as a 40-50-year-old white male, with salt and pepper hair, approached a group of children and a parent near the school on Conestoga Drive in the township on May 20 at about 2:35 p.m. Police say the man was also wearing a gray Villanova T-Shirt and blue jeans.

"The unknown man asked probing questions related to the children’s mode of transportation to and from school which raised concern with the adult who was present," police said.

Following the incident, the parents contacted authorities.

Evesham Police are continuing to identify the man and are asking for the public's help. Anyone who knows the male or who may have information is asked to contact Evesham Police Department at 856-983-1116, the department's Confidential Tip Line at 856-983-4699 or email authorities at Facebook@Eveshampd.org.
