MOUNT HOLLY – Police are searching for a man who allegedly forced his way into the home of his child's mother and stabbed her multiple times Monday night, resulting in her death.

Shanai Marshall, 37, died Tuesday of multiple stab wounds she suffered following Monday's attack at her township home.

Police say 38-year-old Rashon A. Causey, with whom Marshall has a child, forced his way into the woman's house on Monroe Street just before midnight on Monday and stabbed her multiple times, Burlington County Prosecutor Robert D. Bernardi said Wednesday.

Marshall was flown by helicopter to Capital Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton where she succumbed to her wounds Tuesday.

An autopsy was scheduled for Wednesday by Burlington County Medical Examiner Ian Hood, the prosecutor's office said.

Police say Causey, a resident of Burlington City, is wanted on charges including first-degree murder, second-degree aggravated assault, second-degree burglary, third-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and fourth-degree unlawful possession of a weapon. Warrants have been issued for his arrest.

Authorities are asking anyone with information on Causey's whereabouts to contact Burlington County Central Communications at 609-265-7113.
