Waldwick Woman Ruled Homicide Victim
Police in northern New Jersey say a 23-year-old woman, found dead in the Bergen County home she shares with her parents, was the victim of a homicide.
The Record reports that Mary Greff was discovered at her home on Mary Lane in Waldwick on Wednesday. Authorities tell the newspaper that an infant was found unharmed in a bassinet in the room with Greff’s body.
In a news release Wednesday night, Bergen County prosecutor John Molinelli confirmed that Greff died in the early morning hours on Wednesday, sometime before 1 a.m.
The release further states that evidence of asphyxiation or strangulation found on Greff’s body resulted in the homicide ruling. An autopsy has not yet been performed.
Detectives from the Waldwick police force and the Bergen County prosecutor’s office were at the home Wednesday and had the street blocked off. They continue to investigate along with the prosecutor’s major crimes unit.
