Here are this week's top athletes to vote on:

Boys basketball - Karl Towns, Sr., F/C, St. Joseph’s-Metuchen

The Kentucky recruit had 15 points and 10 rebounds on 7-for-8 shooting in a 63-59 win over Linden in the NJSIAA Tournament of Champions semifinals. He also has been selected as the New Jersey Gatorade Player of the Year for the second straight season.

Boys basketball - Ismael Sanogo, Sr., F, Newark East Side

The Seton Hall recruit hit the game-winning free throw with 1.6 seconds left in regulation to give Newark East Side a 46-45 win over defending NJSIAA Tournament of Champions winner Roselle Catholic that put Newark East Side into the TOC final for the first time in school history. Sanogo finished with 10 points and 10 rebounds in the win.

Girls basketball – Marina Mabrey, Jr., F, Manasquan

Mabrey finished with 24 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists to help lead Manasquan to a 62-42 win over Woodrow Wilson in the NJSIAA Tournament of Champions semifinals to put the Warriors back into the TOC final for the second time in three seasons.

Girls basketball – Zaire O’Neil, Sr., F, Shabazz

O’Neil scored a game-high 19 points to help the defending NJSIAA Tournament of Champions winner return to the final with a 53-44 win over St. Rose in the semfinals.
