NEWARK — An NJ Transit bus driver was caught on video getting involved in a sidewalk fight before resuming his duties.

The video picks up with a man wearing an NJ Transit uniform fighting with a young man who lands a punch that knocks the man over in front of an NJ Transit bus pulled over to the side of the road.

The man who appears to be the driver quickly gets up and walks down the sidewalk in the direction of where the other man went. He then walks back to the bus, gets on and drives off.

The only identifying mark on the bus is an electronic sign that reads "99 Clifton Ave" and the number 5756. It's not clear from the video when it took place, but it appears to have been shot at the Bergen Street bus stop near University Hospital.

NJ Transit told NBC 4 New York the driver was "taken out of service" and the incident investigated.

A driver who escorted a pregnant rider off the bus when she didn't have the fare was disciplined in the same manner. NJ Transit's app was not working and he said she needed to pay the fare.
