Police say the officer's 20-year-old son was stabbed during a brawl in Paterson on Sept 24. No one was arrested in the incident.

Police say two videos captured an off-duty police officer approach a group of young men, with his gun drawn, outside a business. The video shows him knock one man to the ground and kick him while allegedly trying to search for his son's attackers.

Paterson police director Jerry Speziale tells The Record that the case has been turned over to the Passaic County Prosecutor's Office. He declined to name the officer and says that he remains on active duty.
