OLD BRIDGE —  The driver of a district school bus has been suspended after she was caughton video  texting while driving.

Superintendent David Cittadino confirmed the incident in a post on Twitter, saying he was "deeply disturbed by this lack of concern for student safety by an adult who must know better."

There was no information given about when the incident occurred.

In a video provided to New Jersey 101.5 by an Old Bridge parent, the driver, whose name was not provided by the parent or authorities, can be seen looking at and operating her phone while on the road.

Linda Cott, the manager of the Shamrock Stage Coach bus service that operates the bus, said the driver has been suspended until further notice."

Cittadino said on Twitter that the driver was "removed from routes" in the town, and that he has consulted with police about the incident.

"I am sorry this happened and I thank you for sharing the video," he said. "I cannot stress enough that school safety is my greatest priority."
