Isabelle Mosca has coordinated the events over the last nine years as a way to raise awareness about autism. The Ventnor resident has a seventh-grade son who is autistic.

Thursday's event, called Blow Bubbles 4 Autism, was expected to involve more than 200 schools, nonprofit groups and businesses.

They were trying to break the record of more than 34,000 people blowing bubbles simultaneously.

Mosca figures it will take about a month before she hears from the Guinness Bok of World Records whether she's set a new record.

Mosca tells The Press of Atlantic City that the important thing is raising awareness and acceptance of autism.
