Vehicle hits NJ police officer, others in Jersey City
JERSEY CITY, N.J. (AP) -- Authorities say a police officer is among a group of people who've been struck and injured by a speeding vehicle in Jersey City.
The incident happened shortly after 8 p.m. Sunday when the vehicle hit a second car, sending it up onto the sidewalk. Several people were taken to local hospitals for evaluation and treatment,
The Jersey Journal reports (http://bit.ly/1KKM5aJ ) that a spokesman for Jersey City Medical Center-Barnabas Health says nine people were injured. Their conditions were not immediately known.
Police are investigating and have detained the driver of the first vehicle.
