CAMDEN — Police say a woman caught on surveillance footage from a restaurant used a small child to take money from an unattended counter.

The incident happened on August 6 at the New Hong Kong Chinese Restaurant on Chase Street. In video provided by police the woman can be seen waiting at the counter before directing the child, who cannot be identified, to go behind the the counter and take an unknown amount of money.

According to police the woman and child then left the restaurant with the money before they could be confronted.

The woman in the video is described by police as being a black woman, wearing a blue denim shirt, light colored jeans, and sandals.

Police encourage anyone with information about the woman or the incident to call the Camden County Police Department tip line at 856-757-7042.
