Parents of Autistic Children hold walk April 23 to support Jersey Shore families
Autism Awareness Month is underway and one local charity is walking the walk for the cause.
Parents of Autistic Children (POAC) is a nonprofit based in Brick. They offer training and support services for families and service providers. They also support research and hold fun, free events for kids and adults on the autism spectrum.
Coming up on Saturday, April 23 is the 2016 POAC Walk at First Energy Park, home of the Lakewood BlueClaws, at 2 Stadium Way, Lakewood. Registration starts at 11a.m., and the walk kicks off at noon.
In addition to the money raised for POAC, which helps support the Jersey Shore autism community, walkers also have the chance to receive incentive prizes for reaching fundraising goals.
