NEWARK — A United flight bound for Chicago aborted its takeoff on Friday morning.

The FAA said flight No. 2001, a Boeing B737, was on runway 4L at 6:15 a.m. when the pilot reported a possible engine problem and returned to the gate. United spokeswoman Erin Benson said there were 150 passengers and 6 crew members on board. There were no injuries.

Video footage showed the plane head back followed by five fire trucks.

CBS New York reported smoke was coming from the place and was moving at a high rate of speed before aborting the flight.

Benson said passengers were not immediately taken from the plane pending an inspection of the plane.
