Authorities say the construction site of a private boarding school near Trenton went up in flames.

The fire at the site of the Christina Seix Academy in Ewing began around 5:30 p.m. and was still burning more than three hours later.

An official at the West Trenton Fire Company tells The Times of Trenton that it appears the fire was accidental, begun by construction workers who accidentally sparked a fire in roofing materials.

Authorities say one firefighter suffered a back injury. Dozens more were called to the scene.

The school plans to enroll children being raised by a single caregiver facing serious economic difficulties.
