Camden County Prosecutor Warren Faulk says the 18-year-old and his friend were walking in the area of 3rd and Main streets when the masked men confronted them around 9:20 p.m. Sunday. The masked men soon opened fire and the 18-year-old was shot, but his friend escaped unharmed.

A stray bullet struck a 55-year-old homeless man who was sitting in the area. He fled the scene on his bicycle but later went to a hospital for treatment.

The 18-year-old victim was in critical condition Monday.

A motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
