Two men who were stuck in a construction bucket lodged against a church steeple have been rescued.

Television news footage showed the men being taken down in a metal cage and slowly lowered to the ground.

The men were working at the United Methodist Church in Morristown when their construction bucket became disabled around 2 p.m., preventing them from descending.

Fire department ladders weren’t tall enough to reach them.

The New Jersey State Police dispatched two helicopters to assist.

The men were reportedly working on repointing the cement on the church’s steeple.
