Two Turnpike Lanes Closed for Inspection of Fire-Damaged Overpass

Motorists can expect delays near New Jersey Turnpike Interchange 7A in Mercer County.

Two southbound lanes will be closed for about two hours starting at 10 a.m. so engineers can conduct a more detailed inspection of the Interstate 195 overpass that was damaged in an accident Wednesday.

Authorities say a dump truck overturned and burst into flames, killing the driver. The accident caused shutdowns and major traffic delays on the toll road and 195.

One southbound lane will be open during Thursday's inspection.

Westbound traffic is restricted to one lane at the I-195 overpass in Robbinsville for up to six weeks.

I-195 traffic will eventually use a new overpass that's under construction. Officials will try to accelerate completion of the project.
