Prosecutors say two Camden men have died after they were gunned down on a city street.

Police officers responding to reports of shots fired in the 1100 block of Mechanic Street late Sunday night found 30-year-old Jermaine Morris and 38-year-old John L. Samuels lying wounded in the street.

Both men were taken to a hospital, where each died a short time later.

Camden County Prosecutor Warren Faulk says a possible motive for the shooting remains under investigation, but further details were not disclosed Monday. The deaths of Morris and Samuels are the 12th and 13th murders in the city this month.
