Two men have been charged with refusing to leave the office of a New Jersey prosecutor with whom they wanted to meet.

Authorities at the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office said they told a public advocate that they were not able to meet with him now about a shooting by police in Garfield last month.

But they say that Miguel Reyes and Richard Rivera showed up anyway on Friday -- along with some journalists.

Reyes and Rivera were charged with defiant trespass.

NJ.com reported that reporters from there and The Record were ordered to clear the way.

In a news release, Prosecutor John Molinelli criticized journalists for going to his office with the activists.

The Record's lawyer, Jennifer Borg, issued a statement that the paper had journalists there to report the news.
