One Dead, One Wounded in Paterson Shootings
One man was killed and another was critically wounded in separate shootings in Paterson that authorities say are not related.
The first shooting occurred around 12:05 a.m. Friday, when a 24-year-old man was hit in the chest near 16th Avenue and Rosa
Parks Boulevard. Police initially couldn't find the victim, but soon learned he had been driven to a hospital in a private car.
The man underwent surgery, but further details on his condition were not disclosed.
The second shooting occurred around 4:15 a.m. Saturday in a strip mall near Ellison and East 18th Street. The victim suffered multiple gunshots to his upper torso and later died at a hospital.
Authorities say the man may have left a house party shortly before he was shot.
