Forty-four-year-old Antoinette Pelzer initially was charged with two counts of aggravated assault and weapons offenses after being captured at the scene around 10 a.m. Monday.

But Atlantic County Prosecutor Ted Housel says she will likely face more serious charges following the victims' deaths.

Housel says a city police officer who happened to be patrolling in the area witnessed the stabbing and quickly subdued Pelzer in the 1900 block of Pacific Avenue.

The victims, identified only as women ages 47 and 80, were both stabbed multiple times in the upper body. Both died a short time later at a hospital.
