The Federal Aviation Administration says the fire at a building at Atlantic City International Airport made some traffic flow systems unavailable. The agency says those functions have been transferred to a backup system.

It’s not clear how many airports were affected or how many flights were delayed.

The FAA says the fire didn’t affect systems used to directly control air traffic.

The fire began around noon Friday in a building at the William J. Hughes Technical Center. About 1,600 people were evacuated and no injuries were reported.

The FAA says an adjacent runway at the airport about 18 miles west of Atlantic City was temporarily shut down, but later reopened.
