An overturned truck on the New Jersey Turnpike left only one lane for commuters in South Jersey on Wednesday morning.

New Jersey State Police spokesman Trooper Lawrence Peale said the truck overturned as it came onto the northbound Turnpike at exit #3 spilling a load of concrete slabs onto the roadway around 7:30 a.m.

Pictures from the accident showed the truck laying across the right and center lanes. The accident blocked traffic from entering the northbound Turnpike from Exit 3.

The driver was taken to Cooper University Hospital for lacerations to his arm and head according to Peale who said no charges have been filed.

New Jersey Fast Traffic's Jill Myra said the accident created an hour long delay to get through the area.  "There's a lot to look at," Myra said of the accident.

The on-ramp from exit #3 was reopened around 11:30 a.m. along all lanes on the Turnpike.
