Trump may seek run as independent candidate
Republican Donald Trump said he might run as an independent candidate for president in 2016.
The billionaire and former reality show star is leading the race for the GOP nomination for the fourth straight month and said that if the Republican party does not treat him fairly, he'll "see what happens" and consider running as an independent.
Trump and other GOP candidates have signed pledges saying they promise to forgo independent campaigns and support the eventual GOP nominee.
Trump has been leading national polls consistently since the summer.
An independent presidential bid by Trump could strip the party of some of it's core conservative voters and pose a threat to the eventual Republican nominee.
