I had a hard time believing this was real, but the deeper I dug, the more this story checked out as legitimate.

Oregon man Michael Garland Elliot passed away on April 6 surrounded by loved ones who cared for him over the last few months. His obituary had an interesting blurb towards the end. If you so desire, you can read the full obituary here.

Mike ran out of family long ago and is survived by his ex-wife and best friend, Teresa Elliott. Though their marriage ran aground, their friendship only grew stronger and hers was the last voice Mike heard. And the last thing she said to him was "Donald Trump has been impeached." Upon hearing that he took his final, gentle breath, his earthly work concluded. Mike will be forever missed but never forgotten.

Bad job by Teresa. I do believe her heart was in the right place; giving her dying friend a bit of comfort as he reached the end. But this guy spent his last moment on earth being told a bald-faced lie! You've gotta do better than that.

To me this comes off as feeble and patronizing. It wouldn't matter if the lie was about Trump, Hillary, Ted Cruz, or any politician. Why would any sane person in their dying hours be that fixated on the demise of a political figure? If they were once married and then continued a tight life-long friendship, there weren't any memories or personal anecdotes she could have brought up instead?
