The state has stocked New Jersey's streams, lakes and ponds with more than 180,000 trout. The stocking will continue this spring, joining the thousands of trout still available from stockings last winter and fall.

“Opening day of the trout season is a cherished tradition in New Jersey, one that connects families and friends across our entire state in the enjoyment of the state’s great outdoors, including our state parks and natural areas,” said Department of Environmental Protection Commissioner Bob Martin.
