Trevelise’s Tomato Salad
This Italian dish comes straight from my grandmother. It’s been in my family for a thousand years. It’s a great dish for the summer time when you don’t want to cook anything.
Just wait til you see what it tastes like.
I would sit in front of the TV with a big loaf of italian bread and just eat it. It’s so nutritious, with the fresh tomatoes, the garlic and the olive oil.
- 1 bowl ice cubes
- Fresh Jersey Tomatoes
- Olive Oil
- Fresh Garlic Cloves
- Basil Leaves
HOW TO MAKE IT:
Quarter the tomatoes and put them over ice. Pour the olive oil over the top. Slice up the garlic and add that. Sprinkle some fresh basil leaves over the top.
Let that sit until the ice melts. Using ice instead of water will keep the dish cooler longer and the tomatoes from getting soft and mushy.
Eat the tomatoes and get a fresh loaf of Italian bread and dunk it in the juice, NICE!!
