This Is Us star Chrissy Metz has reacted to "body shamers"
who slammed her outfit at the MTV music awards. The actress whose TV show partially takes place in New Jersey, took to twitter regarding her burgundy latex dress saying

Whether we like it or not, shaming exists in our society and it's not going away. How we deal with it will affect the rest of your life. One way is let the shaming make you angry enough to do something about it.

When I was in grammar school I was fat and constantly made fun of. I knew the shame of buying clothes in the husky section of the stores and hearing "those pants don't make you look fat." When I was sick of hearing it, I started working out and to this day, I maintain my weight while watching the other "skinny kids" at the time complain now about their paunches.

Fat is not a fashion statement, it's a danger to your health. You can wear what you want, you definitely need to be dealing with it while you still can. While you should always feel good about yourself, losing the weight will make you feel that much better.
