Police believe a gunman intentionally riddled a police SUV with gunfire in Trenton.

Two Trenton police officers escaped injury as five bullets ripped into their vehicle on Stuyvesant Avenue late Monday evening. Police Lt. Don Fillinger tells The Times of Trenton the officers reported hearing six shots in
the immediate vicinity and they soon found out the gunman had been shooting at them.

An officer carrying a submachine stood guard as police processed the crime scene Tuesday.

Fillinger says "if they're trying to kill two of us, they may do a drive-by and come back and try to kill all of us.""

No arrests have been made.
