Trenton Mayor Still in Office but Loses Driver

The mayor of New Jersey's capital city remains in office four days after being convicted of corruption charges, but he's lost his police driver.

Trenton Police tell The Times of Trenton that the detective who had been assigned to drive and guard Tony Mack was moved Tuesday to a different job in the department.

The state Attorney General's Office filed a motion this week to have Mack removed from office and stripped of a state pension. But a judge has not yet scheduled a hearing on the matter.

A federal jury last week convicted Mack of corruption for taking bribes to help a developer in a deal set up as part of an FBI sting.
