Trenton Man Denies Throwing Pit Bull At Police
A Trenton man who allegedly pointed a gun at police and threw his pit bull at them has pleaded not guilty to numerous charges, including aggravated assault.
The counts against 21-year-old Tony Butler stem from a street incident last November.
Believing Butler had a gun, authorities say officers tried to question him but he ran off into a nearby home and locked the door.
When officers broke down the door, Butler allegedly had a handgun in one hand and his pit bull in the other. He allegedly threw the dog at police and it charged at the officers, who fatally shot the animal.
Butler fled the scene, but was captured Jan. 10. He entered his pleas during a court hearing Friday.
