Trenton leaders talk tax hikes

The possibility of tax hikes is being openly discussed in Trenton by Democrats, along with other ways to get more of your money to dump into the road and bridge repair fund.

In the past, any such talk was quickly extinguished by Gov. Chris Christie.

But recently, Democrats have been emboldened by Christie's unspoken support of a tax hike in the case of the near-bankrupt Transportation Trust Fund.

His hiring of a top Democratic operative from the Corzine and McGreevey years is also fueling the fire of the tax increase talks.
