28-year old Shaneek Dawson of Trenton and her two daughters A'iana Dodson, age 5, and Trinidi Dawson, age 4 were killed when a Toyota Solara driven by their mother, Jennifer Dawson, 43, of Bensalem, Pennsylvania drifted into the southbound lanes of Route 29 between Leigh Avenue and Calhoun Street around 2:33 p.m according to the Mercer County Prosecutor's Office.

Jennifer, an officer at the Mercer County House of Corrections, is in guarded condition at Capital Health at Fuld according to the Times of Trenton. She was on her way to work at the time of the accident.

Her  Solara was struck on the side by a Ford F150 pickup truck by an unidentified 47-year-old Hamilton woman who police say could not avoid the collision.

All three victims were pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say speed was not a factor in the crash but an investigation continues. No charges have been filed against either driver.

Route 29 was closed in both directions between Route 1 and Parkside Avenue for several hours to allow for an accident investigation.
